ON THE HORIZON

If you look into my recent search history you will see many "how to" google searches; How to create a successful blog, How to design a website, How to invent a creative blog name, and How to travel to Europe on a budget (the last one is unrelated to creating a website, but it's still there. Trust me!) What I'm trying to say, I suppose, is that I have no idea what I'm doing. I've never written anything creative, so long as you aren't counting the 20 page thesis on the affects of insanity. I suppose I started this to document my life, to organize it and make sure that I accomplish all of my goals in life. That's how I work, I need something laid out clearly in front of me to make sure that I stay on track. And sharing the path of my life with others doesn't sound so bad either.

A little about me is necessary, if I'm planning to document my goals and aspirations and hopes and dreams here. My name is Drew Morgan, a relatively masculine name for a blond girl of 5'2" who has a deep love for the color pink and all things floral. Name aside, I believe that my appearance quite matches my personality. Here's a photo for reference:

As I said before, I am 5'2" (thanks dad for the short gene!), and blond, clearly. I am an avid lover of tree climbing, yoga, morning hikes, horses, books, and having my photo taken. Oh no, I'm about to get into the part of the post where I start listing all of my interests and give you my whole life story and blah blah blah. I promise to try and make it as interesting as it can possibly be, seeing as it's all about me. I recently graduated from a small charter school in the suburbs of Arizona, aka the Devil's Vacation Home. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this June heat could melt me completely - okay that might have been a hyperbole, but I promise, it feels that way. I am starting school up in the forest come August. I am so excited for a change of scenery, but snow? that's a different story. At my university, I plan to pursue a double major in psych and art, in hopes of becoming an art therapist specializing in adolescent eating disorders. I know, you're probably asking "what the heck is art therapy?" and I'm asking myself the same thing. But, hey, if music can be used as a form of therapy, then art can too! That's basically it in the auto biography portion. I promised to keep it short, and I think I did.

The last thing that I want to address is my goal for this blog. I talked a little bit above, about how I wanted to use this blog as a way of keeping me on track, maintaining my organization, and remembering my life. But I also want to make this blog useful for others as well. I'm hoping to write about my adventures this summer (hopefully spark some ideas as to what to do in Arizona that doesn't involve burning), my meal plans to share a healthy life style and help me stay healthy as well, my traveling tips, and how to's for the first year in college. I'm really excited for the prospects of this website, and I hope you are too. Damn, that sounded cheesy. I'll work on my singing off, but for now, I'll simply say, until next time mes cheries.
